By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Week 10 of the Premier League of Belize 2025–2026 Opening Championship features a key matchup as Wagiya host Belmopan FC at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga. The match will be played either Saturday, October 11 or Sunday, October 12 at 4:00 pm, with the final date still pending confirmation. Wagiya, however, are already promoting the match for Saturday.
Wagiya have requested to move the fixture to Saturday to avoid clashing with the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT) friendly against Venezuela on Tuesday, October 14 in Chicago. With BMNT players in their squad, Wagiya are hoping to field a full-strength team before national team travel begins.
Belmopan FC have not yet agreed to the change.
“This matter is still on the table due to the fact that the Belize men’s national A team is scheduled to travel, which we are not certain if it will be Saturday or Sunday,” Belmopan FC Manager Kenneth Budna told Breaking Belize News.
On the field, both teams enter the match separated by a single point and sharing similar win-loss records. Wagiya have been resilient at home and boast an 11-goal tally, though their -3 goal difference suggests they’ve struggled to contain pressure. Belmopan, with a game in hand and a +5 goal difference, have shown greater balance between attack and defence. A win for either side could propel them into the top three, particularly if Progresso falter in Belmopan.

- Capital Sports Club vs Progresso – Isidoro Beaton Stadium, Belmopan – Saturday, October 11 at 7:30 pm
- Port Layola vs Napoles FC – Marion Jones Sports Complex, Belize City – Monday, October 13 at 4:00 pm
