Premier League of Belize: Wagiya beat Bandits 3-2 in comeback victory in Dangriga

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Down 2-0, Wagiya mounted a spectacular come-from-behind victory to beat the Belmopan Bandits 3-2 at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in Week 6 of the Premier League of Belize 2023-24 Closing Championship on Sunday.

The visiting club took the lead in the first half with a brace by Jonard Castillo who scored a field goal in the 23’ and penalty kick goal in the 25’.

Wagiya struggled to get back but did so on a hat trick by old fox Harrison ‘Cafu’ Roches. The experienced player pulled one back in the 50’ and two more in successive fashion when the game was winding down in the 88’ and 90’.

The six points they now have, propelled Wagiya from seventh to fifth place.

The Bandits dropped from the sixth to the seventh position.
