By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Verdes bulldozed Wagiya 7-0 on Sunday in the opening weekend of the 2024-2025 Premier League of Belize Opening Season at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio.
New acquisition, Colombian Yubeiquer Arenas, converted a hat trick, nailing the Wagiya goalkeeper in the 18th, 33rd, and 70th minutes. Felix Martinez (22’), Jordy Polanco (55’), Krisean Lopez (57’), and Zion Frazer (78’) netted the other four goals.
Meanwhile, in the season’s opening match, Progresso blanked the Belmopan Bandits 3-0 in Orange Walk on Saturday night. In the third match, champions Port Layola managed a 0-0 draw against San Pedro Pirates on Sunday.
