By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Saturday night’s marquee fixture pits fourth-place Verdes FC against second-place Belmopan FC in a battle of unbeaten contenders at 7:29 pm at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen. Both clubs enter Week 5 undefeated, with Verdes sitting fourth on five points and Belmopan second with seven.
Verdes return to their home turf after a commanding 7–0 win over Capital Sport Club earlier this month, where Desmond Wade netted twice. Their attack has produced eight goals in three matches, while their defense has conceded just once.
Belmopan, meanwhile, boast the league’s only perfect defensive record—three matches, zero goals allowed. Their compact backline and disciplined midfield have kept opponents at bay, and they’ll need that same resilience against Verdes’ fluid front line.
With Progresso idle until Sunday, the winner here could temporarily claim the top spot. The Marshalleck Stadium crowd will be watching closely as two title contenders test each other’s mettle under the lights in Benque.
