By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC continued their strong run in the Premier League of Belize 2025–2026 Opening Championship with a formidable 4–1 victory over Napoles on Sunday night, October 19, at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.
The visitors from Orange Walk struck early, with Keydenshaay Bowen opening the scoring in the 16th minute. Latrell Middleton followed up with a brace in the 30th and 36th minutes, sending Progresso into halftime with a 3–0 lead.
Napoles responded in the second half through Johan Jaime, who pulled one back in the 55th minute. But Progresso sealed the result with a final strike from Mark Petillo in the 67th minute, capping off a well-rounded team effort.
With the win, Progresso maintain their second-place standing with 17 points—six behind league leaders Verdes (23), who defeated Wagiya 3–0 in Benque Viejo del Carmen on Saturday. Progresso also sit two points ahead of Port Layola (15), who were inactive this weekend.
Week 6 also featured Belmopan FC’s dominant 5–0 win over Capital Sport Club at the same venue on Saturday, rounding out a weekend of high-scoring fixtures across the league.
