Premier League of Belize: Progresso meet Port Layola in Orange Walk after 1st round 2-2 draw

Their first-round encounter on Sunday, August 3 at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City ended in a 2–2 draw. Moises Hernandez opened the scoring for Port Layola in the 23rd minute, Latrell Middleton equalized for Progresso a minute later, and Keydenshaay Bowen gave Progresso the lead in the 26th before Trimayne “Pepa” Harris (Gentle) responded in the 32nd for Port.
Both clubs trail second-place Belmopan and third-place Napoles by just two points. Progresso’s +3 goal difference gives them a slight edge over Port’s +1. With Verdes pulling away at the top, this match could shape the race for playoff positioning and determine which team emerges as the strongest mid-table contender.
