By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso FC delivered a commanding performance against Wagiya SC, securing a 5-0 victory at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town on Sunday, February 15, during Week 5 of the Premier League of Belize 2024-2025 Closing Championship.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, but Progresso came out strong in the second half. Yubeiquer Arenas opened the scoring in the 49th minute and then added a second goal from a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Luis Felipe Parra Garcia extended the lead with a goal in the 56th minute, followed by another goal by Arenas in the 76th minute. Trimayne Harris completed the rout with a goal in the 85th minute.
This dominant performance by Progresso FC showcased their offensive prowess and solid defensive play, leaving Wagiya SC with no chance to recover. Progresso continues to climb the league standings, eyeing a strong finish this season.
