Premier League of Belize: Progresso beat Benque Viejo United 2-1

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Benque Viejo United’s downslide continued on Saturday as they fell at home at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen 2-1 against visiting Progresso FC.

Raymond Ramos scored in the 64^th minute to give Progresso a 1-0 lead. Alden Nuñez then extended the lead to 2-0 in the 90’+4.

Benque Viejo United got their consolation one minute later when Sebastián Valencia shook the net for the final 2-1.

The loss was Benque Viejo United’s third. They are in third place with 13 points. They managed to keep the spot as Altitude drew 2-2 with Port on Sunday and remained in fourth place with 12 points.

For Progresso, the win was their second, moving up from five to eight points. They are currently in fifth place.
