By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Port Loyola tackle Wagiya on Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City, closing Week 7 of the Premier League of Belize 2024-2025 Closing Championship.
In the first round, Port Loyola defeated Wagiya 3-1 in Dangriga, and now, leading the competition by four points over Verdes with one game less, they have the opportunity to extend their lead to seven points with a victory on Sunday.
Wagiya, currently at the bottom of the standings with only one point so far, are expected to give Port Loyola a run for their money. Despite their struggles, Wagiya are known for their never-say-die attitude, making this an exciting match to watch.
In other Week 7 action on Saturday, San Pedro Pirates drew 2-2 with Verdes at Ambergris Stadium while Progresso secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Belmopan in the Capital.
