By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Port Loyola FC earned a valuable 4–2 victory over Napoles FC on Wednesday night at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, securing their second win of the Premier League of Belize 2025–2026 Closing Championship.
Port Loyola opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Andrés Orozco finished confidently to give the visitors a 1–0 lead. They carried that advantage into halftime, having kept Napoles from finding any attacking fluency.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 63rd minute through #9 Gilroy “Bredda” Thurton, and three minutes later, #33 Ernesto Caicedo extended the advantage to 3–0, putting Port Loyola firmly in control.
Napoles pulled one back in the 75th minute when #3 Norman Anderson struck to make it 3–1, but Port Loyola responded immediately. Just one minute later, Orozco completed his brace in the 76th minute, restoring the three‑goal cushion.
Napoles added a second in the 80th minute through #70 Keon Badillo, but Port Loyola managed the closing stages well to secure the win.
The result lifts Port Loyola to six points, strengthening their push to climb the table after a difficult start. Napoles remain on five points, now with back‑to‑back defeats after beginning the campaign with a win and two draws.
