Port Layola struck first in the 14th minute through Gilroy ‘Leng’ Thurton, but Progresso’s Rene Leslie equalized in the 31st. Fernando Aguirres restored Port’s lead in the 39th minute, only for Leslie to strike again in the 56th to make it 2–2. Just when the match seemed destined for a draw, Trimayne Harris punched in the game winner in the 91st minute, sending the visiting bench into celebration.
Harris’ goal avoided a similar score to the first round 2-2 in Belize City.
Port Layola now sit second in the standings with 11 points (3W–2D–2L), 13 goals scored and a +2 goal difference. Progresso drop to sixth with 8 points (2W–2D–3L), despite scoring 14 goals and holding a +2 margin.
