Premier League of Belize: Port Layola beat Wagiya 3-1, retake top spot

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Port Layola FC claimed a 3-1 victory over Wagiya SC at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in Sunday, securing their second win of the season and taking over the top spot from Verdes FC based on goal difference.

Port Layola took an early lead with a goal from Michael Palacio in the 13th minute, but Wagiya responded with a goal from Raheem Thomas in the 31st minute. Port Layola regained the lead in the 67th minute with a strike by Shawn Young. Colombian Andrés Orozco secured the 3-1 win in the 84th minute with his third goal of the season.

With this win, Port Layola now leads the standings, adding more excitement to the ongoing championship. Wagiya, on the other hand, suffered their second consecutive loss.
