By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Leaders Verdes FC and second-place Port Layola FC were unable to hurt each other and settled for a scoreless stalemate at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen on Saturday night in Week 4 of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2024-2025 Closing Championship.
Verdes FC remain at the top of the standings with ten points, three points ahead of Port Layola, who have seven. Port Layola still have a match against Progresso FC pending, which could potentially impact their position in the standings.
In other matches this weekend, Progresso FC shocked San Pedro Pirates with a 2-1 victory at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro. Meanwhile, Belmopan Bandits played to a 0-0 draw against Wagiya SC at Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.
