Premier League of Belize: Napoles host unbeaten Verdes in rescheduled match Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias:  Napoles FC and Verdes FC will square off in a rescheduled fixture of the 2025–2026 Premier League of Belize Opening Championship on Saturday night, October 5, at 7:30 pm at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan. The match was originally set for midweek but was postponed after Napoles withdrew from the COFUSECA tournament in Zacatecas, Mexico to refocus on their domestic campaign.

Napoles Manager Brian Mira confirmed the change, saying the club had requested the adjustment last Friday. “Napoles was supposed to travel this weekend on a long-standing commitment, but we decided to stay and concentrate on PLB,” Mira told Breaking Belize News.

Verdes lead the standings with 17 points and a +14 goal difference. Napoles, fourth with 10 points, could jump to second place with a win. Their first-round meeting ended in a 1–1 draw, with goals from Felix Martinez (Verdes) and Daijon Daniels (Napoles). Saturday’s rematch promises intensity and playoff urgency.
