Premier League of Belize: Champions Altitude visit Progresso in Orange Walk on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Champions Altitude are travelling North on Saturday in the third week of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2023-24 Closing Championship to face Progresso at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town at 7:30 pm.

Neither have had a good start to the season, but Altitude have at least won one game while Progresso have stumbled twice. That makes Saturday’s match a must-win, particularly for the home side. Both teams have taken the game seriously and have stepped the promotion of the match with images of war tanks and helicopters with faces of their players inserted in the soldiers who’ll be doing battle.

Two other matches play at the same time.

Police Benque will host subchampions Port Layola at the Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen while Bandits, who gave had a better start than the last two Championships, will take on Benque Viejo United at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan.

On Sunday, leaders Verdes will be travelling South to meet Wagiya in the battle of the two most senior clubs in the Premier League of Belize. The match will kick off at 4:00 pm at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga.
