By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2024-2025 Closing Championship continues this weekend with Week 4 matches that promise exciting football action and potential changes in the standings.
Belmopan FC will face Wagiya SC at Isidoro Beaton Stadium in Belmopan at 7:30 pm on Saturday, February 8. Both teams are yet to secure any points in the championship, making this match crucial for either side to get on the scoreboard and kickstart their campaign.
The encounter between Belmopan and Wagiya is set to be a hard-fought battle, with both teams eager to register their first win of the season.
“Every day, we put in the work. Every day, we push toward our goals. The grind never stops, and we know the reward will come. To those who have joined us – thank you. To those who will—get ready. The journey is just beginning!” Belmopan FC said in a social media post ahead of the upcoming match.
Wagiya are also hoping to turn things around on Saturday and are carrying a busload of fans.
“Wagiya Sporting Club is Travelling to Belmopan on Saturday, February 8th,2025 to do Battle against Belmopan FC at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium at 7:30 pm. Bus circles at 2:30 pm. We leave Griga at 3 pm. Round Trip: $10. Wagiyameme!!!” the Dangriga club said on social media.
Other matches this weekend include the top-of-the-table clash between Verdes FC and Port Layola FC at Edmund Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo del Carmen, and San Pedro Pirates hosting Progresso FC at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro. Both matches are scheduled for 7:30 pm on Saturday as well.
