Altitude pulled off a stunning upset over Verdes in the first leg of the Premier League of Belize semifinals, winning 1-0 at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday night.
The game was a tight and tense affair, with both teams defending well and creating few chances. But in the 81st minute, Jardel Muschamp broke the deadlock with a brilliant strike that gave Altitude the edge in the tie.
Altitude will now travel to San Ignacio for the second leg on Sunday, hoping to hold on to their lead and knock out the reigning champions Verdes, to advance to the Finals.
Expect a thrilling game in Cayo in the second leg as these teams are very well-matched, having drawn 1-1 and 0-0 during the regular season.
