By Rubén Morales Iglesias:  Port Layola and Wagiya SC meet in a pivotal Round 8 fixture of the 2025–2026 Premier League of Belize Opening Championship on Sunday afternoon, October 6, at 4:00 pm at the Marion Jones Complex in Belize City. Both clubs are tied on 10 points, with Port Layola holding second place thanks to a +2 goal difference over Wagiya’s –3.

The home side will be looking to consolidate their playoff position, while Wagiya aim to leapfrog into the top three. With Verdes pulling away at the top, this match could prove decisive in the race for postseason spots.

Expect a physical contest, with Layola’s attacking unit pressing for early control and Wagiya countering with grit and determination.
