By Breaking Belize News Staff: A pregnant auxiliary nurse from Belmopan, Shanda Blades, 38; is out on $2,000 bail on a charge of handling stolen goods connected to a string of burglaries in the Mile 8 and Hattieville communities. Blades was already out on bail for handling stolen goods as she was charged a week prior connected to the same string of burglaries for other goods she had allegedly handled.

Blades appeared in court on Wednesday with her attorney Dale Cayetano. According to allegations, on November 17, she tried to dispose of two rings, valued a total $1,300 at JEC pawn shop.

Blades pleaded not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same which she met. A week prior, on December 15, she and her boyfriend, Edward McKay, 34; along with Tyreke Garnett and Camaree Williams were charged jointly with handling stolen goods. McKay had pleaded guilty to the charges but the charges were not withdrawn against the others. The group were arrested for allegedly handing a number of stolen items, mostly jewelry.
