Policemen fired on while responding to fight in Ladyville

By Aaron Humes: Police have detained one man and are searching for another following an exchange of gunfire on Sunday night involving police officers.

According to the Quick Response Team attached to Ladyville Police Station, they were responding to a report of a fight in progress on Perez Road around 7 p.m. They came across a man in full black clothing at the corner of Poinsettia Street and Perez Road who fired several gunshots in their direction.

One officer returned fire and the shooter fled into nearby Plunkett Street; no one was injured.

Various evidence was collected and an investigation by the Department is underway.
