By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A police vehicle attached to the Trial Farm Police Substation, Orange Walk, ended up in a drain early Sunday morning.

Around 6:00 a.m. on February 22, 2026, officials received information that a red Ford Ranger bearing license plate CYB 4145 was in a ditch along Kiski Street.

Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle partially inside a drain, with its left side and left front submerged. The pickup sustained damage to the right front windshield, the middle of the bumper, and its siren lights were detached.

The driver, PC Flores, complained of pain to his right shoulder, head and right side of his chest.

The passenger, identified as Akeem Aviles, sustained a cut wound above his right eye and was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital for medical attention.

Initial investigations indicate that PC Flores reported the steering wheel locked while he was driving, causing the vehicle to swerve left and enter the drain.
