By Aaron Humes: 31-year-old businessman Dijon McNab has been formally charged with manslaughter by negligence and causing death by careless conduct in the death of Constable Karen August.
On Sunday, September 7, PC August was on the back of a motorcycle being driven by PC Kurlyn Hamilton when they were hit by a vehicle between miles 68 and 69 on the George Price Highway.
McNab was initially charged with multiple traffic and criminal offenses, including negligent grievous harm, negligent wounding, driving without due care and attention, failing to keep as close as possible on the right-hand side of the road, failing to stop and render aid, and failing to report an accident.
August, a mother of two, died 12 days later.
