By Aaron Humes: Crime visited the agricultural hub of Central Farm, Cayo District on Saturday night when a Taiwanese diplomat was held up at gunpoint at home by a pair of armed intruders.
The victim of the aggravated burglary reported to police that upon hearing his dog barking, he stepped outside to investigate, only to be pounced on, tied up inside the residence, and robbed of an assortment of personal belongings and a significant amount of cash in US currency.
Police in a press briefing on Tuesday said that they have no suspects at this time but they believe the victim was targeted because they had information that he was there. It is also believed the armed attackers knew that a significant sum of money was in the house.
