Police seek van in murder investigation of Jose Matus

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Authorities in Belize City are actively seeking this black Chrysler Minivan believed to have been involved in the shooting death of Jose Matus.

Just around midday on January 12, 2024, the van drove up to Matus on Singh Street and 2 gunmen exited and fired over 20 shots into the drivers side of Matus’ GMC.

Matus died shortly after and 2 women that were with him also sustained gunshot injuries.

Matus resided in the White Cocal Area of Corozal, and was considered a major underworld figure with connections in Mexico.
