By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are seeking two male persons in connection with a shooting in Gardenia Village that claimed the life of 15-year-old Rackeem Armstrong and left 18-year-old Justin Young injured.
Public reports identified Armstrong as a student and confirmed that the shooting happened in Gardenia Village on Sunday night. Young also sustained gunshot injuries.
According to police, Armstrong and Young were among a group of males on an unnamed street when an armed man approached and opened fire. Armstrong was fatally shot, while Young was injured.
Police say the preliminary investigation suggests that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute over a motorcycle.
During Monday’s press briefing, ASP Stacy Smith said police have not confirmed who the intended target was. She also said that, as of her latest update, no suspect had been detained, but two persons were being sought.
Police did not say whether the suspects are known to police or where they are from.
