By Zoila Palma: On September 20, 2025, Benque Viejo Police, led by Officer Commanding Jesus Palma, successfully recovered a 2008 Isuzu D-Max pickup truck that had been stolen during an aggravated burglary the night before.
According to reports, around 9 p.m. on September 19, five armed men—one carrying a gun and four wielding machetes—forced their way into a home on the outskirts of San Jose Succotz Village, Cayo.
The intruders confronted a mother and daughter, stealing their cell phones and making off with the pickup truck before fleeing the scene.
Following swift police action, the stolen vehicle was located on the outskirts of Benque Viejo Town the next day.
Community members have commended the prompt response of the police.
