By Aaron Humes: Members of the Belize Police Department are set to receive a special Christmas gift, thanks to the efforts of Minister of Home Affairs and Enterprise, Oscar Mira, and Commissioner of Police, Dr. A. Richard Rosado.
Every police officer and civilian staff member will receive a ham or turkey, in a historic first for the department.
This generous initiative acknowledges the dedication, sacrifice, and hard work of the men and women who serve and support the Belize Police Department throughout the year. The gesture reflects a deep appreciation for their commitment to keeping communities safe.
The Christmas treat is part of the government’s efforts to show appreciation. Other Belizeans are benefiting from a GST waiver on hams, turkeys, and other essentials for the holiday season.
Meanwhile, a Christmas party for the children of Police officers in Eastern Division is underway at the Racoon Street Police Station compound.
