By Aaron Humes: 25-year-old Orvin Justin Williams, a police officer, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection with the shooting deaths of 57-year-old Paula Belisle and 57-year-old Paul Esquilliano, fraternal twins, on Monday, September 15.
According to a police report, information was received of shots being fired in the Ysaguirre area, Hattieville Village, Belize District around 2:15 in the afternoon. Police responded, and upon arrival they met BERT personnel who were transporting 57-year-old Paula with apparent gunshot injuries to the body; Paula, however, died while being transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
The body of Paula’s twin brother was found motionless on the ground with apparent gunshot injuries.
The shooting incident occurred at a residence in Hattieville.
