By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belize City Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the woman whose body was discovered stuffed inside a garbage drum at the corner of Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road on Saturday evening.
According to Crime Stoppers Belize, the victim is believed to be of Creole descent and was wearing a black blouse with the word “Champion” written across the chest and red short jeans at the time of discovery. She also has distinct tattoos on her neck and leg, which investigators hope will aid in confirming her identity.
Police were alerted to the scene around 5:45 p.m. on October 4 after a man searching through the garbage drum for bottles stumbled upon the partially decomposed body. The woman had multiple injuries to her upper body and was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m. at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that may help identify the victim to contact Crime Stoppers Belize at 922, use the P3 Tips app, or report to the nearest police station.
The investigation into the brutal discovery continues.
