By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 55-year-old labourer has been arrested and charged after police say they found a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine hidden between his fingers during a patrol stop on Wednesday night.
Around 8:00 p.m., officers conducting motorcycle patrol on Temash Lane, Orange Walk Town noticed a man acting suspiciously. When officers approached and informed him they would conduct a search, they observed a white, puffy substance between the fingers of his right hand.
He was immediately informed of the offence, cautioned, and taken to the Orange Walk Police Station along with the suspected drug.
At the station, the man was identified as Alexander Ronald Lemoth, 55. The substance was weighed in his presence at 0.12 grams, then sealed and labeled as evidence. He voluntarily signed the exhibit envelope and acknowledged his rights.
Lemoth was formally arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs. He chose to remain silent after being cautioned again.
