Police investigating claims made by Yellowman against Opposition Leader

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams has confirmed that the Belize Police Department is investigating a report filed by the UDP’s Brian “Yellowman” Audinett against his party leader, Shyne Barrow.

“I’m not aware of a report filed against Yellowman, I know that yes Yellowman did file a report against the leader of the opposition where he alleged that information reaching him is that the leader of the opposition placed a hit on him. CIB has that complaint, they are following it up to see if there is any credibility to the information,” Williams said.

The Commissioner says that the Crimes Investigation Branch is investigating and interviewing persons who Yellowman claimed were around when he was threatened.

“It’s one that we cannot ignore and so I’m going to give the investigators a time to be able to do the investigation, I know that they are in the process of interviewing persons who Yellowman claimed were around, including persons who may have brought certain information to him and when we are through with that if we see a need to bring in Shyne or the leader of the opposition for an interview then we are going to do so,” Williams added.
