By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the death of a man in Northern Belize.
On Thursday, August 8, about 11:30 p.m., police responded to a farm in the Santa Elena area, between Mile 90 and 91 on the Philip Goldson Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered the motionless body of a man with an apparent scratch to the chest area. He was later identified as 66-year-old Dimas Amaya, a Belizean farmer of a Corozal District address.
Initial investigations revealed that around 7:00 a.m., Dimas Amaya left home to work on the farm near Santa Elena. And about 10:30 a.m., the farm owner discovered him lying motionless.
