By Breaking Belize News Staff: A leaked letter shows that a police constable is challenging his transfer citing alleged abuse of power by the Commissioner of Police Anthony Rosado.
The letter from the offier’s attorneys is copied to the Belize Police Department’s Legal Officer, ACP Bart Jones.
The officer is reportedly being transferred out of the Gang Intelligence, Investigation and Interdiction Unit (GI3) to Division Three, Mahogany Heights Police Sub-Station, and simultaneously de-activates his specialized allowances.
The grounds for the challenge noted on the letter is “Malice, Abuse of Power, and Illegality”
The letter noted that the “transfer is not actuated by genuine administrative or career development needs, but by malice and bad faith. The decision was made shortly after made known to your office, in his capacity as a police officer, specific, incriminating information concerning high-ranking individuals involved in the highly sensitive Budna Kidnapping matter. The transfer, read in conjunction with the immediate and punitive removal of $880.00/month in specialized allowances (Plain Clothes, Detective,).”
