By Aaron Humes: Police and the Belize Defence Force (BDF) were active in the Blue Creek area of the Orange Walk District on Thursday, and hauled in a substantial amount of suspected cocaine as well as a high-powered rifle and ammunition.
Around 8 a.m., the joint operation discovered a .223 rifle, 40 rounds of .223 ammunition; two parcels of suspected cocaine weighing a combined 2,128 grams or 4.69 pounds and eight small transparent plastic bags containing 232 grams or half a pound of suspected cocaine.
No one was in the area at the time, therefore all items were sealed, labeled, and deposited as found property.
