By Zoila Palma: Today, Prime Minister John Briceño met with Yván Gil, Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York.
During the meeting, PM Briceño reaffirmed the importance of maintaining the Caribbean as a zone of peace and discussed key bilateral matters between Belize and Venezuela.
UNGA80, held from 22 to 30 September 2025, convenes under the theme Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development, and Human Rights.
This milestone session commemorates eight decades of global cooperation, emphasizing the renewed commitment to multilateralism, solidarity, and shared action to address pressing global challenges.
