PM Briceño and President Arevalo discuss partial scope agreement for trade, border interactions and security cooperation

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Prime Minister John Briceño is in Guatemala leading a delegation on an official visit.

During Monday’s meeting with Guatemalan President Bernardo Arevalo, they discussed security cooperation, commitment to the full implementation of Partial Scope Agreement for trade as well as possibilities for expansion. 

’We looked at avenues to improve our interactions along the border region of Jalacate Belize and Santa Cruz, Guatemala for the mutual benefit of our people.

I expressed appreciation for President Arevalo’s support for Belize’s membership to the Council of Ministers of Finance for #SICA and our observer status to #SIECA,” the Prime Minister expressed.

PM Briceño commented, “our differences are only positively resolved through dialogue, cooperation and peaceful diplomatic means.”
