By Aaron Humes: A resident of Maya Beach in the Stann Creek District unexpectedly died while working on a vehicle in his yard on Friday morning.
69-year-old Randy Ester, an American national of Maya Beach, was under his blue Toyota SUV in his yard fixing the arms of the vehicle, when suddenly the jack slid and the vehicle fell on his chest area.
The vehicle was removed and Ester was rushed to the Southern Regional Hospital via ambulance but he died while admitted at 2:13 in the afternoon.
The incident is being investigated pending the result of a post-mortem examination.
