By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Residents of the Petville area in Orange Walk Town are calling for increased police presence, particularly during nighttime and weekends, following concerns raised during a recent police outreach activity.
The concerns were voiced during a Meet & Greet Operation conducted by police on January 21, 2026, between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., where officers visited homes and engaged directly with residents.
Led by Inspector Desmond Francisco and Inspector Erika Flowers, the operation involved Community Oriented Police Officers and an RPU representative. A total of seven households were visited.
Residents reported issues with poor street lighting and suspicious vehicles entering the area at night. Despite these concerns, residents welcomed the engagement and thanked police for making their presence felt in the developing community.
Police reported that the operation was completed without incident and forms part of continued efforts to build trust and enhance public safety.
