Patricia Chavarria wins Miguel Brothers Cycling Race

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Patricia Chavarria of the Chavarria Cycling Team claimed a decisive victory in the Open Women’s category of the Miguel Brothers Cycling Race, crossing the finish line in Belize City after a demanding ride from Roaring Creek. Her win earned her the top prize of $500 and a commemorative trophy donated by Carol Miguel Requena in honor of Leolin and Edward Miguel Sr.

The triumph adds another chapter to the Chavarria family’s achievements. Patricia’s brother, Derrick Chavarria, won the Elite Men’s race earlier in the day, making the siblings the standout story of this event.

Second place went to Irene Baki of Williams Racing Development, who earned $400 courtesy of Sherette and Daniel Duffus. Patricia’s teammate and sister, Paulita Chavarria, secured third place and a $300 prize donated by Ermin Bucknor in memory of Kenneth Miguel.

The top five finishers included Nathalie Lovell of Lovell Cycling Team in fourth, receiving a generous $2,000 prize sponsored by Bucknor Legal Services, LLC., and Lianni Choto of Troyer’s Treats Cycling Team in fifth, awarded $100 in memory of Edward and Leolin Miguel.
