Just days after claiming the top spot at the Miguel Brothers Cycling Race, Patricia Chavarria of the Chavarria Cycling Team stormed to another triumph in the Women’s Category of the 2025 BTB September Criterium, held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Albert & Regent Streets in Belize City.
Chavarria’s back-to-back victories have cemented her status as one of Belize’s leading women cyclists. Her performance at the criterium was marked by tactical precision and unrelenting pace, earning her the $500 top prize and a commemorative trophy.
Nathalie Lovell of the Lovell Cycling Team followed in second, continuing her consistent podium presence, while Irene Baki of Williams Race Development secured third, displaying the growing depth of talent in Belizean women’s cycling.
The top five was rounded out by Paulita Chavarria, Patricia’s sister and teammate, in fourth, and Gabrielle Lovell of the Lovell Cycling Team in fifth — reinforcing the family-driven spirit that defines much of Belize’s cycling community.
Patricia’s Winning Streak
Last week, Patricia dominated the Miguel Brothers Cycling Race, a grueling ride from Roaring Creek to Belize City, where she earned another $500 prize and a trophy donated in honor of Leolin and Edward Miguel Sr. That race also saw her brother, Derrick Chavarria, win the Elite Men’s category, making the Chavarrias the headline story of Belizean cycling this month.
