By Zoila Palma: Belizean teachers now have the opportunity to work in U.S. public schools in fields such as elementary education, science, mathematics, and special education for early learners.
Jeff Seaby, Participate Learning’s International Recruitment Director will personally present details of the program during his visit to Belize next month.
The teaching positions are available in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Contracts allow legal residence and work in the United States for a minimum of two years, with working conditions on par with U.S. public school teachers.
Participate Learning manages the recruitment and selection process, including support for visa applications. The organization facilitates placement of international teachers in U.S. school districts and provides guidance throughout the process.
“This is a valuable opportunity for Belizean educators to broaden their professional experience in the United States,” said Ronald Ramírez, Recruitment Manager for Latin America. “Teachers will gain professional development and strengthen pedagogical skills in diverse, multicultural settings.”
Selected teachers will earn an annual salary ranging from US$41,000 to US$55,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and school district, equivalent to approximately BZ$82,000 to BZ$110,000.
Benefits include health insurance, airfare, and the option to bring a spouse and minor children.
Special education teachers are in particularly high demand, working with students with diverse learning needs in coordination with educational teams and families.
An in-person information session with Jeff Seaby will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ramada Hotel by Wyndham Princess in Belize City.
Interested teachers and journalists are invited to register in advance at this link.
Applications are open year-round, free of charge, and available at Participate Learning’s website.
