By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a traffic accident involving two motorcycles that occurred at the intersection of San Antonio Road and Progress Street on Wednesday evening.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a red and black Lifan scooter (license plate M4702) with minor damages and a red and black AKTR motorcycle (license plate MC5195) with rear-end damage.

Initial investigations reveal that 37-year-old Ismael Villanueva was traveling from west to east when he reportedly made a sudden left turn. In doing so, he failed to give way to an oncoming Lifan scooter driven by 25-year-old Mark Pineda of Palmar Village. The failure to yield resulted in a collision between the two cycles.

While Villanueva escaped unhurt, Pineda sustained scrapes to his right foot and both elbows. Police have processed the scene, and both parties have been advised to provide formal statements at the station.
