Pallotti High School to battle St Catherine Academy in CSSSA Girls Football Championship Final Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Pallotti High School and St. Catherine Academy (SCA) are set to clash in the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) Girls Football Championship at 11:10 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.

Pallotti High School advanced to the final by winning 2-1 over five-time champions Gwen Liz High School in the second semifinal held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The match saw standout performances from Neylanie Noralez and Jasha Bernardez, who each scored a goal to secure the victory for Pallotti. Kenya Gabourel scored for Gwen Liz.

In the first semifinal, St. Catherine Academy earned their spot in the final with a 2-1 victory over Wesley College. Goals by Davae McCaulay and Tatiana Martinez put SCA ahead, while Clayian Swazo managed to pull one back for Wesley, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.

The upcoming final between Pallotti and SCA promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to claim the championship title. SCA goes in with a 3-1 win over Pallotti in the regular season, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the final.

The CSSSA champions will earn the right to advance to the National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) championship, which will be hosted by Mount Carmel High School in Benque Viejo del Carmen on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Gwen Lizarraga High School and Wesley College will play the third-place game at 8:00 am.
