By Rubén Morals Iglesias: Pallotti High School (PHS) celebrated their Patron Saint, St. Vincent Pallotti’s, Feast Day on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in grand style with an 8-0 thrashing of Anglican Cathedral College (ACC) in the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) Football Championship at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.
The match showcased a stellar performance by Pallotti’s star player, Jasha Bernardez, who scored a double hat trick—a remarkable feat. Bernardez found the net in the 8th, 9th, 28th, 37th, 47th, and 67th minutes, leading the Gators to a dominant victory over the ACC girls. Neylanie Noralez added the third goal in the 13th minute, and Demika Jones converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute.
This victory brings Pallotti’s record to 1-1 in the tournament, following their earlier 3-1 defeat to Saint Catherine Academy (SCA) on Saturday, January 18, 2025. In that match, SCA emerged victorious with goals from Davae McCaulay (26′), Evely Noble (39′), and Tatiana Martinez (44′). Pallotti’s lone goal came from Bernardez in the 10th minute. Bernardez now has seven goals to her credit.
The tournament continues on Saturday, January 25, with the following matches:
- Excelsior High vs Maud Williams High
- EP Yorke vs PHS
- ACC vs SCA
