By Zoila Palma: Data from the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB) noted that overnight visitor arrivals to Belize increased by 2.1 percent during the first quarter of 2026, rising from 183.4 thousand in the same period of 2025 to 187.3 thousand.
The growth reflects a modest but steady improvement in stayover tourism at the start of the year.
This increase was enough to offset a decline in cruise tourism, which fell by 2.7 percent over the same period. Cruise passenger arrivals dropped from 398.3 thousand in the first three months of 2025 to 387.7 thousand in the first quarter of 2026.
