By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Orange Walk Technical High School clinched the last spot in the 2025–26 NSSSA Boys National Final after defeating defending champions Gwen Lizarraga High School 4–2 in a penalty shootout Friday night at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. The match ended 0–0 after regulation and extra‑time before heading to spot kicks.
With the result, a new boys’ national champion will be crowned on Saturday, as Gwen Lizarraga’s title defence came to an end.
Orange Walk Technical advance to Saturday’s 2:00 pm Boys Final, in which they will face Sacred Heart College, who earlier defeated Julian Cho Technical High School 2–1. Julian Cho play for third at 10:00 am, while Gwen Lizarraga contest the boys’ third‑place match.
In the girls’ competition, the BHSA Stingers earned a 1–0 win over EP Yorke High School to reach Saturday’s 12:00 pm Girls Final, in which they will meet the defending champions Georgetown Technical High School Egrets. Georgetown earlier edged Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School 2–1. EP Yorke and Mount Carmel meet in the girls’ third‑place match at 8:00 am.
All four placement matches — girls’ and boys’ finals and third‑place games — will be played on Saturday at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.
