Orange Walk police investigate alleged assault of 15-year-old by ex-stepfather

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Orange Walk police are investigating a report of common assault involving a minor and his ex-stepfather.

According to the latest police Situation Report dated March 25, 2026, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 24, around 4:00 p.m. at a residence located at the corner of Temash and New River Street in the Black Water area.

Reports are that the minor was at home when his ex-stepfather arrived and began banging on the front screen door. The door was opened, and shortly after, a dispute developed inside the house.

Police say the situation escalated when the individual allegedly pushed the minor on the shoulder and forcefully shut a bedroom door during the confrontation.

The report further indicates that the minor later saw the individual inside the home with an unidentified female before both individuals left the premises.

A statement has since been recorded, and the matter is under investigation.

Police have listed the ex-stepfather, a 37-year-old Belizean teacher, as a person wanted for questioning. Investigations are continuing.
