By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A police patrol in Orange Walk Town led to the arrest of a man found with suspected crack cocaine in his possession. On Saturday, November 29, 2025, around 5:30 p.m., officers were conducting mobile patrol on Progress Street when they observed a Hispanic man walking out of Barrio Pobre Alley, an area known to police as a drug base.

An officer approached the individual, identified himself as a police officer, and informed him that he would be searched for illegal items. During the search, the officer reportedly found two pieces of white buffy substance suspected to be crack cocaine in the man’s right front pocket.

The suspect was informed of the offense, possession of a controlled drug, cautioned, advised of his constitutional rights, and placed under arrest. He was escorted to the Orange Walk Police Station with the suspected drugs in view at all times.

At the station, police confirmed the man’s identity as 42-year-old Arsenio Pinkney, a Belizean labourer of Progress Street. Officers weighed the suspected crack cocaine using a digital scale, which registered 0.2 grams. The substance was then placed in an envelope, labelled, sealed, and signed by Pinkney in the presence of police personnel.

Pinkney remains in custody pending charges.
