By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man in northern Belize.
On Thursday, September 25, about 5:45 p.m., police visited the Northern Regional Hospital based on information received. Upon arrival, they observed one Leonardo Vasquez with gunshot wounds to his body.
Initial investigations revealed that about 5:10 p.m., Vasquez and another male were riding a motorcycle in Carmelita Village, Orange Walk District when another cycle with two occupants approached them and demanded money from Vasquez. One of the assailants subsequently shot him, causing injuries.
Leonardo Vasquez later succumbed to his injuries.
