By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) announced on Friday afternoon that it is suspending all football competitions due to bad weather.
“The Orange Walk Football Association would like to notify all our players, club owners, fans, and other stakeholders that due to the weather conditions forecasted for this weekend, we are postponing all our football activities under our umbrella,” the OWFA said in a social media post at 3:00 pm.
The suspension affects the OWFA Men’s First Division Opening Season Week 4 games at the Louisiana Football Field on Saturday and Sunday, as well as the U11, U13, U15, and U17 Boys football tournaments scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at People’s Stadium and Louisiana Football Field. The postponement also includes the Women’s 9-A-Side Tournament semifinals and the Copa Sur, sponsored by Minister Jose Abelardo Mai, in San Lazaro on Sunday.
